This is one day where every man should want to look his best and we advise early consideration to avoid the unnecessary stress caused by lack of planning. Although no man wants to outshine his partner on their wedding day he will still need to embrace the theme of the happy occasion when thinking about his choice and style of suit.

Considering what to wear for the biggest day of your life can be a daunting task for any prospective groom. At Marc Oliver we understand the importance of making the right choices for this occasion and will help you stay relaxed by simplifying this process. Even if you wish to keep your outfit as a surprise we recommend consulting your partner on the theme and colour as it will make for more relaxed decisions and dispel any concerns they may have.

It is important to have agreed on a few basics before you start to consider your own outfit and how your best man and family members are required to dress for your wedding day is a perfect example. These decisions are usually better when made with your partner beforehand. The decision on weight and colour of cloth is usually controlled by the location and colour scheme of the event. It follows that if your wedding is overseas in a hotter climate you will naturally want to consider lighter colours in a summer weight cloth.

Most clients have an initial idea of what they are looking for; however, we are happy to sit down and discuss some ideas with you even if you are starting with a blank canvass. These discussions are usually more productive if you have firstly taken a little time to consider the basic outlines of what you are hoping to achieve and the possible colour of cloth, however these are by no means final. Although we are known for the clean slim lines of our tailoring we balance these skills with a client’s individual requests, whichever style you choose the result will be a perfect balance between cut, design and performance.

Recently there has been a growing trend to move away from morning suits; however, they are still an important consideration for a church wedding. As morning suits are traditional wedding wear they can add an extra feel of importance to the day (please see our section for morning suits).

Suits can be personalized by choosing a waistcoat from one of our classic designs. These can be made in fine plain wools or even a beautiful silk fabric in a range of patterns. Waistcoats are a perfect way of uniting the look of a wedding party and are often bought in addition to the groom’s suit as they are a more cost-effective alternative to buying a complete outfit for close party members.

Personal linings are an excellent way to express individuality and ensure that our client really makes the suit his own and is for this reason that we now offer a range of more than 600 high quality linings in patterns and plain colours. Finally, suits can then be monogramed with dates and special wording, (if desired) in a variety of fonts and finished with a personal choice of button for the ultimate finishing touch.
